Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure Inside Two Area Malls

Fair Oaks Police District — Shopping Center Unit detectives with the assistance of our Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Squad arrested a man wanted for multiple counts of Indecent Exposure.

At 5:00 p.m. on January 11, officers responded to the Spencer’s store inside Fair Oaks Mall for a man exposing himself inside the store. A detective assigned to Fair Oaks Mall began a thorough investigation and identified Jamall Mathis, 29, of Maryland as the suspect.

After Mathis was identified in the January incident, officers assigned to our Springfield Mall were able to identify him as the suspect involved in an Indecent Exposure incident that occurred on October 12, 2023, at Five Below inside Springfield Mall.

On the morning of March 15, officers assigned to our Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Unit located Mathis in our Franconia district where he was taken into custody. Mathis was charged with two counts of Indecent Exposure and was held on a secured bond and has since been released.

Due to the repeated nature of these offenses, officers are seeking additional victims, and if anyone recognizes this man or has information about these incidents to call our Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 3.
