Man Arrested for Malicious Wounding after Rideshare Altercation

Franconia Police District – A man has been arrested and charged after a rideshare altercation in Lorton.

On March 1 shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 9200 block of Ashland Woods Lane in Lorton for a shooting. The victim and suspect, who were not known to each other, took a rideshare together.  They were picked up from different starting locations but were dropped off at their final destinations in close proximity to each other.  

The two exchanged words again and the suspect fired a gun multiple times at the victim. The victim was not struck, and the suspect fled the area.

Through detectives’ investigation, they identified and arrested Yusef Roy, 32, of Lorton. He was charged with Malicious Wounding, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. He is being held with no bond. Detectives executed a search warrant on his home and recovered several firearms.
