Homicide Investigation in the Alexandria Area of Fairfax County

This morning, around 2:20 a.m., officers from the Mount Vernon Police District were called to the 6000 block of Richmond Highway for a report of a shot person. Officers located an unresponsive adult male in the parking lot and he was pronounced deceased by paramedics from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

Major Crimes Division detectives are actively investigating this incident as a homicide. The deceased man has been identified as Tarreece John Sampson, 24, of Alexandria. Mr. Sampson is an employee of the Fairfax County Public Schools. Next of kin has been notified.
