UPDATE: Search Continues at Holmes Run Park

Mason Police District – The search continues at Holmes Run Park; no remains have been found. Detectives have completed the search at Lemon Road Park (initially characterized as Tysons Pimmit Park) and they no longer believe any remains were buried there. The search at Holmes Run will be temporarily suspended overnight and will resume early tomorrow.

Detectives Search for Human Remains

Mason and McLean Police Districts – Acting on information recently received, detectives are searching for human remains in two areas in the county. The first being on the grounds of Holmes Run Park, near the 6000 block of Crater Place. The second site is at Lemon Road Park, in the Falls Church area of the county.

Homicide, Gang Unit and Crime Scene detectives are joined by members of the police department’s Search and Rescue Unit, along with two “Live find” and cadaver dog teams from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Urban Search and Rescue Team and one cadaver dog team from the Montgomery County, Maryland Police Department.

These searches could continue for an extended period of time.
