Fatal Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Crash in Annandale

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a vehicle and its driver involved in a crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. Officers responded to the report of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on Hummer Road near Royce Court this morning around 6:08 a.m.  The pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes of Hummer Road and was hit by a dark colored sedan travelling southbound on Hummer Road.  The pedestrian, Angel Paz Lopez, 42, of Alexandria, died on the scene. Speed and alcohol are unknown factors for the driver. Detectives have not yet determined if alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian.

This is the 10th pedestrian fatality in the county to date in 2020.
