Homicide Investigation Underway in Lorton

Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes, Cyber and Forensics Bureau are actively investigating a homicide that occurred last night in the 9500 block of Unity Lane in Lorton. Officers were called around 7:32 p.m. for a man who had been shot at this location. Officers arrived on scene and discovered Nahom Beyene, 42, of Lorton, in the threshold of the doorway with trauma to the upper body. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel declared Beyene deceased at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy in the coming days to determine the cause and manner of death. Detectives continue to conduct interviews, collect video surveillance and process evidence recovered from the scene.
