Man Arrested After Shooting Gun in a Crowded Bar

Mason District Police District – The Fairfax County Police Department arrested a man after a reckless discharge in a business after hours.

On July 16, around 4 a.m., officers responded to the Lion’s Den Lounge, 5820 Seminary Road, in Bailey’s Crossroads, for a shooting. Detectives determined Abdulkerim Halid, 25, of Arlington, got into a dispute with a group of men in the lounge. Halid displayed a firearm and discharged two rounds into the ground. Two adult females were injured from bullet fragments and debris. They were taken to a nearby hospital for injuries not considered to be life-threatening. Halid was identified as the shooter, but he left the scene prior to police arrival. Detectives obtained two warrants for reckless handling of a firearm.

Mason patrol officers and detectives from our Fugitive and Apprehension Unit located Halid yesterday in the City of Alexandria. With the help of the Alexandria Police Department, Halid was arrested without incident in Alexandria City. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held with no bond.
