Detectives Arrest Man Connected to 2021 Massage Parlor Robbery

Mason Police District— Detectives are searching for additional victims after a recently arrested man was connected to a 2021 robbery.

At 10:52 a.m. on September 9, 2023, officers responded to a robbery at the Deep Blue Massage, at 6105 Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners. A man armed with a handgun and taser entered the business, assaulted two employees, and stole money. The two victims were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Detectives recovered surveillance footage of the suspect and the vehicle he arrived in. Through the investigation, Mohamed Tahir, 33, of Falls Church was identified as the suspect. Tahir was taken into custody the same night and charged with Robbery, Strangulation, and two counts of Abduction by Force.

Detectives assigned to the case noticed Tahir matched the description and behavior of a suspect in a similar robbery in 2021. At 10 p.m. on December 15, 2021, officers responded to a commercial armed robbery at the Blue Therapy Massage, at 5532 Hempstead Way in Springfield. The suspect, armed with a handgun, assaulted and robbed two victims. Through the detective’s investigation, the suspect was not identified.

After Tahir’s recent arrest and additional investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the 2021 incident for Robbery, Strangulation, two counts of Abduction by Force, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Tahir was arrested yesterday morning and is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Based on information from these cases, detectives believe there may be additional victims. Detectives encourage victims to come forward regardless of when a crime may have occurred. Victims can speak with a Victim Services specialist at 703-246-2141.
