UPDATE:Jewelry Store Robbery/Officer-Involved Shooting/Carjacking in the Springfield Area

Detectives from both the Major Crimes Division and Internal Affairs Bureau continue to work on their respective criminal and administrative investigations of the robbery and officer-involved shooting that occurred on Saturday, May 21, in the 7000 block of Brookfield Plaza, in Springfield.  The injured citizen was released from a local hospital.   The officer involved, PFC Lane M. Leisey, a 10-year-veteran*, assigned to the Franconia District Police Station remains on administrative assignment.

The investigation continues as the apprehended individuals are involved in extradition proceedings, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
