Pedaling Perp Picked Up: Man Arrested for Robberies Committed on a Bicycle

Mason Police District – Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have charged a man linked to multiple robberies committed while riding a bicycle in Bailey’s Crossroads.

Since earlier this year, detectives have been investigating a series of robberies and larcenies committed by a suspect that was riding a bicycle. In each incident, the man approached victims from behind and snatched purses. None of the victims were injured.

In the Jan. 5 larceny, the suspect stole the victim’s purse then later used the victim’s credit cards. Detectives were able to identify the suspect through surveillance footage as Adam Houmane, 20, of Lake Barcroft. Detectives obtained warrants for Theft of Credit Card and two counts of Credit Card Fraud.

On Jan. 27, patrol officers arrested Houmane. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with the above charges.
